Pericyclic rearrangements of N-heterocyclic carbenes of indazole to substituted 9-aminoacridines.

چکیده

On deprotonation, 1-arylindazolium salts form 1-arylindazol-3-ylidenes which rearrange spontaneously via ring cleavage, ring closure and subsequent proton transfer to substituted 9-aminoacridines. By contrast, the N-heterocyclic carbene of 2-phenylindazolium cannot rearrange similarly and was trapped by sulfur.

New DKR type: An N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-catalyzed dynamic kinetic resolution of racemic α-substituted β-keto esters has been developed. Dual reactivity of N-heterocyclic carbenes towards copper(II) salts.

Complexes of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) with copper(II) halogenides are unstable. Upon formation, these complexes decompose to give haloamidinium salts. Contrastingly, O-substituted copper(II) NHC complexes are fairly stable. A series of new five-, six- and seven-membered ring NHC complexes of Cu(OAc)(2) have been synthesised and characterised in the solid state.
